ARC'TERYX COMMUNITY GRANT PROGRAM
Opens 31 Jan 2022 11:59 PM (PST)
Deadline 28 Feb 2022 11:59 PM (PST)
Description

CONNECTING TO NATURE IS TRANSFORMATIVE. FOR EVERYONE.

The mountains are more than geography. They are a mindset - a place where we acquire knowledge, skills, experience, and community; an opportunity to connect with ourselves, community, and nature.

As an organization that employs many people who grew up with greater access than most to the outdoors and saw themselves represented in mountain sports, Arc’teryx and many of its employees have benefited from great privilege in their connection to nature.  It is in this context, that Arc’teryx seeks to embrace a wider we, partnering with talented community leaders who are leading the movement towards equitable access to nature.

Grant Program:

From February 1 – 28, 2022, the Arc’teryx Community Grant Program will be open to local, grassroots individuals & organizations actively working to increase access for people who have traditionally been excluded from the outdoors. To support this work we will provide grants of up to 5,000 AUD, CAD, GBP, or USD, dependent on your location.

THE GRANTS WE PROVIDE

Through the Grant Program we aim to support individuals and organizations that center community in their work.  We seek projects that listen deeply to the needs of the community they intend to serve, and work in relationship with said communities to build programs that increase access to nature. As we continue to deepen our commitment to equity, we prioritize support for organizations that are led by the communities they intend to serve.

We trust your judgement on the best use of the funds and therefore provide them without restriction.  If you need them to support your operating expenses, great.  If you need them to support a specific project, equally great.  Our ask is simply that you share how you and your organization seek to increase access to nature for all.

The requirement of charitable status can be a barrier to many great projects receiving funding.  We remove that barrier and do not require charitable status; rather we seek a demonstration of your values and a commitment to your mission.  For it is that which is of central importance.

To provide fair opportunity to each organization within your community, we ask that you apply for a single grant to a single Arc’teryx community, as listed in the application.  If you have chapters in multiple geographic locations, each chapter can submit a single grant application to a single Arc’teryx community.

If this sounds like you or an organization you know, please spread the word or begin the application process by clicking the link below.

In gratitude for the work you’re leading.
